Anti-Ragging Cell
Swami Vivekanand Mahavidyalaya, Latur, maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in any form — on campus, in hostels, or anywhere connected with college life. The Anti-Ragging Cell and Anti-Ragging Squad work together to prevent ragging, keep watch over vulnerable areas, and act promptly on any complaint.
The Cell functions in line with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, and is reconstituted every academic year under the Principal's chairmanship.
Zero Tolerance
Ragging in any form — physical, verbal or online — is strictly prohibited and punishable under law.
Confidential Reporting
Complaints can be made directly to the Coordinator or Chairman; identity of the complainant is kept confidential.
Strict Action
Verified complaints lead to disciplinary action as per UGC regulations and applicable law.

What Counts as Ragging
In line with UGC's anti-ragging regulations, any of the following acts — done to a fresher or any student, on or off campus — is treated as ragging:
Teasing, abusing or playing practical jokes that cause embarrassment or distress.
Any act of physical or verbal abuse, or forcing a student to do something they would not normally do.
Asking a student to do menial or unreasonable tasks not asked of other students.
Harassment, including online or social-media based, that affects a student's academic or mental wellbeing.
Any act that causes psychological harm, fear, shame or humiliation to a student.
Financial extortion or forcing a student to spend money against their wish.
Report Ragging
Any student who experiences or witnesses ragging can report it directly to the College's Anti-Ragging Coordinator, or use the national helpline below. Complaints are treated in strict confidence.
