Salient Features of NEP 2020
The Government of India introduced the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) to transform the country's education system, replacing the pattern inherited from the colonial era with a structure built for a globally competitive, multidisciplinary future. In line with the Government of Maharashtra's GR dated 20th April 2023, our college has adopted NEP 2020 across its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Introduction
The Govt. of India has introduced the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) to transform the education system in the country. The policy aims to change the traditional education pattern implemented since British rule and give a relevant, world-competent structure to the nation's education system. In line with this policy, the Govt. of Maharashtra published a GR dated 20th April 2023 clarifying the various rules and regulations, advising all autonomous colleges to adopt it.
Implementation at Our College
Keeping the tenets and recommendations of NEP 2020 from the UGC in mind, and adhering to directives from the Maharashtra State Department of Higher and Technical Education, the college has prepared a comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate curricular structure. This new structure adheres to the key values of Innovation, Integration, and Inclusion, and is affiliated with Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded.
Under the credit-based structure, a student earns 22 credits per semester. On completing three years and 132 credits, a student may exit with a Bachelor's degree (e.g. B.Sc./B.A./B.Com.). Completing the fourth year (176 credits) earns a Bachelor's Degree with Honours; an Honours by Research route is also available at the college's discretion.

The credit-based curriculum adopted by the college is built from the following course categories, in line with Maharashtra State's directives.
A single subject pursued as the mandatory core of a student's programme, including the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) within core courses.
A second subject of study pursued alongside the Major as an additional requirement of the programme.
A course chosen from an unrelated discipline to give students multidisciplinary exposure.
Mandatory courses in linguistics and communication — compulsory English communication plus an elective Indian language.
Courses imparting practical, hands-on training that support the Major and increase employability.
Practical and soft-skill courses drawn from the college's offerings or MOOC platforms like SWAYAM and NPTEL.
Application of subject knowledge to real-life problems through on-job training, field projects, or community engagement.
Cultural and holistic-development activities — performing and visual arts, NCC, NSS, and yoga.
Compulsory courses on the Constitution of India, social responsibility, community engagement, and environmental education.
